Hi, I'm Niva Berman!

My Background

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. My work focuses on helping individuals and couples move through emotional pain, conflict, and life transitions toward greater clarity, connection, and understanding.

I bring extensive experience working with couples and families, and I continue to invest in advanced training in evidence-based therapeutic models. This allows our work together to be grounded not only in careful listening and emotional understanding, but also in structured approaches known to support meaningful and lasting change.

I have lived and worked in both Israel and the United States, bringing a cross-cultural perspective and a personal understanding of life transitions and shifts within family systems.

My Approach

I hold deep respect for each client’s values, goals, and pace. Therapy with me is collaborative. we regularly check in to ensure we are moving in the direction that feels right and at a pace that feels safe for you. I offer a calm, non-judgmental space where all parts of you and your partner are welcome. Safety is built through trust, consistency, and emotional attunement.

My work is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based approach that focuses on the emotional patterns beneath distress and conflict. Rather than working only on communication skills, we explore the deeper emotions and relational cycles that keep people feeling stuck.

EFT helps:

• Recognize and step out of the repeating negative cycle while understanding how each partner’s emotional responses shape the dynamic

• Move from reactivity toward emotional understanding by slowing down conflict and exploring the feelings underneath

• Discover new ways of responding to one another that build emotional safety, restore connection, and strengthen secure emotional bonds.
